Intercooler is a common refrigeration system of water chiller. The intercooler is suitable for the refrigeration system of two-stage or multi-stage compressor water chiller. It is connected between the exhaust pipe of low-pressure stage and the suction pipe of high-pressure stage, which can effectively avoid the high exhaust temperature of high-pressure stage compressor of water chiller and make the refrigerant liquid supercooled before entering the evaporator. So what is the use of the intercooler of the chiller?
In the chiller, the high pressure liquid refrigerant from the condenser will enter into the intercooler in two ways: one way into the serpentine coil, the other way into the shell of the container and the space outside the coil.
Therefore, the intercooler can be said to be a heat exchanger between refrigerants in the chiller
1. Reduce the exhaust temperature of low pressure stage of chiller.
2. Separate the lubricating oil in the exhaust of low pressure stage of water chiller.
3. The liquid refrigerant in the coil is cooled to subcool.
Warm tips: Although the intercooler plays a very important role in the chiller, it is also very important for us to keep the refrigerant level in the cooler constant when we choose the intercooler. For example, the intercooler of ammonia two-stage compressor water chiller system uses ball valve or liquid level controller and liquid supply solenoid valve as liquid supply device. The intercooler of Freon two-stage compressor water chiller adopts thermal expansion valve as liquid supply device.
