The industrial chiller refrigeration unit mainly consists of four core components, namely: compressor, evaporator, condenser, and expansion valve. On this basis, in order to improve the performance of industrial chillers, there are usually some auxiliary components.
1. Compressor: It is the heart of the core of the entire industrial chiller. Its quality is enough to affect the quality of a machine, and even the length of its service life. The compressor is the power source to ensure the refrigeration. The compressor is used to increase the pressure of the refrigeration in the system, so that the refrigerant circulates in the refrigeration system to achieve the purpose of refrigeration. The general types of common compressors are divided into three types, including open type, semi-closed type, and fully-closed type. In the industrial chiller equipment, the chillers with freezing water above 0 degrees Celsius are generally hermetic compressors. If the freezing water is below 0 degrees Celsius, the low-temperature chillers use semi-hermetic compressors, while the open type is generally used. In refrigeration systems where the refrigerant is ammonia.
2. Condenser: It is the high temperature and high pressure Freon of the refrigeration unit that enters the condenser after coming out of the compressor, releasing a large amount of heat to the cooling medium, and being cooled and liquefied. There are three common general types: water-cooled, air-cooled, and evaporative. We mainly talk about water-cooled condensers. In water-cooled condensers, the heat released by the refrigerant will be taken away by the cooling water. The cooling water can be passed through once or recycled. When using circulating water, a cooling water tower or cold pool is required. The water-cooled condenser is composed of shell and tube type, sleeve type, immersion type and other structural forms.
3. Evaporator: When the freon liquid of the refrigeration unit enters the expansion valve and is sent to the evaporator, it is a vaporization process. At this time, a large amount of heat needs to be absorbed to gradually reduce the temperature of the cooled medium to achieve the effect of cooling. According to the type of medium to be cooled, there are two categories: evaporator for cooling liquid (water) and evaporator for cooling air.
4. Expansion valve: It is a throttling and pressure reduction component that reduces the condensing pressure of the refrigerant to the evaporating pressure, so it is an indispensable component in the refrigeration unit. It is combined with the compressor, evaporator, condenser, And called the four major components of the refrigeration system.
