In order to avoid irreparable damage to the industrial chiller caused by the low temperature environment, the equipment must be drained in time. Such as chillers, pipes, pumps, cooling towers and terminals, when the ambient temperature is below zero, be sure to drain the water beforehand.
The following provides the winter drainage measures for industrial chillers.
1. Condenser: Open the end cap on the other end of the water pipe. After opening, take care to unscrew the end caps and screws.
2. Evaporator: Open the drain valve below the evaporator connection to drain all water. It is advisable to keep the blowdown valve normally open during the winter and shut off the water supply before starting the machine the following year.
3. Pipes and pumps: Drain the water in the pipes and pumps to a low place.
4. Cooling tower: Open the drain valve at the lowest part of the cooling tower water pan to discharge the chassis.
5. End: There is a blowdown valve at the bottom of the coil, and the blowdown valve has also been opened. The blowdown valve is normally open in winter.
During the day or night, the pump must be kept running, and the water must be drained if not used for an extended period of time. If the weather is bad (temperature below -10°C), it is recommended to stop draining and add antifreeze to the water.
The key to preventing freezing: add antifreeze appropriately.
The full name of antifreeze coolant is antifreeze coolant, that is, the coolant with antifreeze function, which can prevent the coolant from freezing in cold winter and prolong the service life of the laser and the inner pipes of the cooler.
There are different kinds of antifreeze formulations on the market today, so many customers don't know how to choose, deploy or choose some antifreeze that is not suitable for our chillers.
In fact, the chiller has certain requirements for antifreeze. Wrong selection or improper use will damage the internal pipes of the equipment. The specific performance requirements of the chiller for antifreeze are as follows.
1. Chemical stability;
2. Good antifreeze performance;
3. Low temperature viscosity;
4. Anti-corrosion and anti-rust;
5. The rubber sealing conduit has no expansion and erosion.
Most antifreezes are ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, which can be used directly in appropriate proportions according to ambient temperature requirements.
However, the mother liquor (ie concentrated type) cannot be used directly, but should be adjusted to a certain concentration with demineralized water according to the requirements of the working temperature. The following are some commonly used antifreezes on the market.
The freezing point of ethylene glycol antifreeze solution changes with the change of ethylene glycol in the aqueous solution. When the volume concentration is lower than 56%, the concentration of ethylene glycol in the aqueous solution increases and the freezing point decreases. It will rise until its freezing point rises to -13°C at 100% concentration. This is an important reason why concentrated antifreeze cannot be added directly to the freezer for antifreeze.
